How to Size Air Treatment Equipment

Water droplets present in your compressed air network will cause all manufacturing processes to operate inefficiently. This will result in increased costs, possibly more down time due to excessive maintenance and lower quality in terms of spoilt products and adverse machinery wear.

In order to correctly size a dryer for your compressed air system you must find out the motor power of your compressor(s). As a rule of thumb a screw or vein compressor will produce 4Cfm per Hp and a piston compressor will produce 3Cfm per Hp. It is best to then put 10% on top of this figure.

An example, a 10Hp screw compressor will produce 40Cfm + 10% = A 44Cfm dryer will be required.
